*Nothing to disclose: bought with my own money*
I told myself I wasn't buying anymore palettes for a while but then this happened. The Pretty Rebel palette from Too Faced is gorgeous and so much fun - I had to make it mine. I've had a love affair with Too Faced for a while now and have not been disappointed by the products I've tried: eye shadows, mascaras, bronzers, lip glosses and primers. After reading very positive reviews of this beauty, I ordered it from Ulta.
These pictures don't adequately capture how pretty and unique the colors are, so I highly recommend checking the palette out in person at Ulta or Sephora.
Too Faced always includes easy to follow guides that are great to get you started. I tried each suggested look and then took a crapton of selfies.
Taking close ups of eye balls and shadow isn't as easy for me as I want it to be so apologies in advance for some of the questionable photography.
Look 1: Rebel 9 to 5 featuring Dainty, Girly and Charming. Girly, that gorgeous sparkly duochrome green is one of main reasons I needed this palette so I was excited to try this look. It was easy enough: Dainty all over from lashes to brows, then Girly on the lid up into the crease, and Charming around the outer crease and lash lines. Girly just didn't blend how I wanted it to and end up looking faded and Charming didn't go on well over it. Ugh. I'm not super pleased with how it turned out so I definitely need to try again, maybe with different brushes? I wore it to work for casual Friday so it was on by 8am and not removed until 10pm. There was some creasing though nothing obnoxious and the colors still looked decent. I used LORAC eye primer, Urban Decay Demoliton and IT cosmetics Hello Lashes and Tightline with it. At least my lashes look reeeeeal good.
Look 2: Pretty Rebel. I'm not afraid to rock pink shadow for work with a black dress, cherry red tights and black Dr. Marten Mary Janes. Pretty Rebel indeed. For this one, I applied Ringleader from lashes to brows, Totally Fetch (!) to the lid, Gangster to the crease, and Badass along the lash lines. For added lining goodness (because I fecking LOVE eyeliner) I put Urban Decay Sabbath along the top lash line and Urban Decay Abyss along the bottom. Once again, I also used LORAC eye primer and IT Hello Lashes and Tightline. I was much happier with this look than the first. The pink is simply gorgeous and it did last all day without creasing.
Look 3: Rebel Rocker. I wasn't sure if I'd like this one but I'll tell you what, that silver shadow is serious business and love it! Here I applied Dainty to the upper lid, Jailbird on the lid, Charming in the crease and then lined with Miss Sparkles. Jailbird is gorgeous and it stayed so bright all day. This time I used Urban Decay Primer Potion to start but stuck with the IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes and Tightline. My brows are an issue because my spoolie needed to be cleaned - sorry. Just look at the pretty shadow, ok?
I tested out the stila liquid lipstick in beso on the same day but normally I would have gone with a more subtle lip color. And yes, I am very proud of that Hall & Oates shirt. I'd wear it almost everyday if I could get away with it.
Final verdict: I love this palette. I was able to get 20% off with a coupon from Ulta but I feel it's worth the $46. It contains such beautiful colors that are highly pigmented and last all day. The guide is helpful for those who are unsure where to start. Do I recommend it? Yes. Absolutely Yes.
