NatureBox - December 2012

Anyone out there is still sticking to their 2013 New Year's Resolutions?  What about that resolution to not eat like crap? I don't make resolutions because I do not like to set myself up to be a failure.  That being said, I know I need to get back to eating smaller portions of not so fattening items.  I'll spare you my unending list of reasons why my weight has been a struggle my entire life but like many, I looooove food and I hate working out.  Fortunately I now have NatureBox so better snack choices are delivered to my doorstep every month for $19.95.

I'm sure you've already figured out that I'm not a picky eater, you're all a bunch of smarties.  But listen (or read), for the second month in a row, I received some tasty, tasty treats.

The dried pears disappeared first. I spent last week eating nothing but fruits and vegetables (except for my morning oatmeal because I cannot give that up) to jump-start my die...erm, healthier eating.  You know how dried fruits often have preservatives or sugar or some kind of bizarre, unpronounceable chemical in them?  This package contained pears.  Nothing more.  Pears.  They were a little tough and chewy but they were perfectly sweet and delicious.

Nuts.  I'm nuts for nuts.  Salty or sweet or doused in flavored powder, I love 'em.   Pistachios are a favorite in our house so no question we would devour these lemon pucker pistachios.  Pistachios are a sweeter, richer nut so the tartness of the lemon add another dimension of flavor.  A dimension of Yum.  Wait, that sounded stupid.  They are just really good, ok?

How about the Pistachio Power Clusters?  Little bit of sweet, a little bit of savory and a whole lot of tasty.  Sometimes clusters like this can be crumbly, hard, or dry.  Not these. These little, two bite snacks could be gone in the blink of an eye if I allowed myself freedom from all self control.

I had no idea what to expect from the masa crisps.  They look like the Cookie Crisp cereal - is that still around?  Thin, crispy, salty, and nutty they are a great snack alternative to chips.  I would easily choose these again.

The wild blueberry granola NatureBox sent is just as delicious as last month's cinnamon spiced flavor.  Here's how I reviewed it for my husband, "I'm going to eat the crap outta that." It's got a nice blueberry flavor with the right amount of sweet.  And yes, I did eat the crap outta it.

I am happy with NatureBox again this month.  Everything except the granola was vegan (honey in the granola) and everything was delicious.  Yes, this is a pricier subscription but I'm getting my money's worth.  If you want to try NatureBox, use the code Refer25 to get 25% off your first month.  Also, if you're on Facebook, like their page.  You can catch deals like $5 for your first month.

  1. Looks like a really cool subscription! I'm considering checking it out. :) Also, I laughed at your comments regarding the blueberry granola. I love anything blueberry and I probably would have said the same thing :)

  2. I got a box from them a few months ago, and there were these Citrus Kick Almonds in it...and holy crap, I am STILL thinking about those things.
